Krasniqi, Circular Economy Expert<br data-start=\"136\" data-end=\"139\" \/>Dr. Albana Rexha, Expert in Gender Mainstreaming<br data-start=\"187\" data-end=\"190\" \/>Urim Xharavina, Green Renaissance<br data-start=\"223\" data-end=\"226\" \/>Lendita Kastrati, People in Need Kosovo<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"269\" data-end=\"518\">To address the growing challenges of pollution and climate change, a new policy proposal aims to establish the <strong data-start=\"380\" data-end=\"405\">Green Fund for Kosovo<\/strong> \u2013 a financial mechanism designed to support environmental projects and the transition towards a green economy.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"520\" data-end=\"1049\">The introduction of environmental taxes is an important fiscal instrument to generate revenue and promote environmental sustainability. In Kosovo, these taxes represent around <strong data-start=\"696\" data-end=\"711\">2.3% of GDP<\/strong>, a considerable percentage compared to the region. However, less than <strong data-start=\"782\" data-end=\"788\">2%<\/strong> of this revenue is actually allocated to environmental protection. This mismatch undermines the effectiveness of green policies and hinders the financing of urgent environmental challenges such as air pollution, waste management, and climate change response.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1051\" data-end=\"1420\">This brief proposes the establishment of the <strong data-start=\"1096\" data-end=\"1121\">Green Fund for Kosovo<\/strong>, an independent, legal, and transparent mechanism for financing green initiatives.
