This law partially repeals Law No. 05\/L-081 on Energy, updating it in accordance with recent developments in the energy sector and Kosovo\u2019s international obligations.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"701\" data-end=\"704\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"706\" data-end=\"732\">Purpose and Objectives<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"734\" data-end=\"750\">The law aims to:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"752\" data-end=\"1062\">\n<li data-start=\"752\" data-end=\"818\">\n<p data-start=\"754\" data-end=\"818\">Promote the production and use of energy from renewable sources.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"819\" data-end=\"881\">\n<p data-start=\"821\" data-end=\"881\">Improve energy supply security and diversify energy sources.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"882\" data-end=\"977\">\n<p data-start=\"884\" data-end=\"977\">Reduce the negative environmental impact and contribute to achieving decarbonization targets.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"978\" data-end=\"1062\">\n<p data-start=\"980\" data-end=\"1062\">Harmonize Kosovo\u2019s legislation with European Union directives on renewable energy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"1064\" data-end=\"1067\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"1069\" data-end=\"1111\">Measures and Implementation Mechanisms<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1113\" data-end=\"1191\">The law provides for a range of measures to achieve its objectives, including:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1193\" data-end=\"1529\">\n<li data-start=\"1193\" data-end=\"1278\">\n<p data-start=\"1195\" data-end=\"1278\">Establishing financial and fiscal support mechanisms for renewable energy projects.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1279\" data-end=\"1366\">\n<p data-start=\"1281\" data-end=\"1366\">Setting mandatory quotas and targets for renewable energy use across various sectors.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1367\" data-end=\"1453\">\n<p data-start=\"1369\" data-end=\"1453\">Simplifying licensing and grid connection procedures for renewable energy producers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1454\" data-end=\"1529\">\n<p data-start=\"1456\" data-end=\"1529\">Promoting private and foreign investments in the renewable energy sector.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"1531\" data-end=\"1534\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"1536\" data-end=\"1586\">Sub-Legal Acts and Administrative Instructions<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1588\" data-end=\"1946\">To implement this law, the Ministry of Economy has adopted <strong data-start=\"1647\" data-end=\"1694\">Administrative Instruction (ME) No. 01\/2024<\/strong> on the Competitive Bidding Process for Granting Support for Renewable Energy, published on December 17, 2024.
