The Forestry Development Strategy 2022\u20132030<\/strong> is Kosovo\u2019s main national policy document for the forestry sector, approved by the Government of Kosovo in 2021. The strategy aims to promote sustainable and multifunctional forest management<\/strong>, preserve biodiversity<\/strong>, support rural economic development<\/strong>, and contribute to climate change mitigation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udfaf Strategic Objectives<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The strategy is built around four key objectives:<\/p>\n

  1. \n

    Sustainable Forest Management<\/strong>
    \u2013 Improving the structure and quality of forests, including the conversion of coppice forests into high forests<\/strong> and the treatment of newly established forests<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Protection of Forest Resources<\/strong>
    \u2013 Establishing Forest Protection Task Forces<\/strong>, identifying and recording illegal occupations, and developing systems to prevent and manage forest fires<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Socio-Economic Development & Promotion of Ecotourism<\/strong>
    \u2013 Defining zones for ecotourism, digitizing and marking hiking trails<\/strong>, and establishing visitor information centers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Strengthening Institutional and Technical Capacities<\/strong>
    \u2013 Advancing formal education in forestry<\/strong>, expanding professional training opportunities<\/strong>, and building the capacities of the Kosovo Forestry Agency<\/strong> and other relevant institutions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
